Yesterday I paddled on the Yorkshire Ouse from Bishopthorpe, through York, towards Boroughbridge. It was the perfect day with wall to wall sunshine and only a few powered craft out on the water to navigate. I called ahead to check that the slipway was open but managed to call the wrong number on my handsfree. The call was answered by a very sleepy lady, it was early and the clocks had just gone forward. I asked if her slipway was open. Thank goodness she didn't take the question the wrong way!!!
